A 60-minute session with Dave Walker analyzing a student's recent performance on the Reading & Writing section of an official SAT practice test. The student and parents leave with a clear understanding of where the student is, what's specifically going wrong, and what would be required to move forward.
How the session works
Before the session, the parents send Dave a list of the student's missed questions from one or two recent official SAT practice tests — generally the two most recent, depending on the student's miss rate. Detailed intake instructions are provided after purchase.
During the session, Dave reviews each missed question with the student using the Socratic method that anchors all Walker Prep instruction. The review surfaces the specific reasoning errors the student is making, distinguishes patterns from one-off mistakes, and identifies the strategic and conceptual gaps that account for the missed questions.
Within twenty-four hours of the session, the family receives a written diagnostic summarizing what Dave observed, where the student's strengths and weaknesses lie, and what kind of preparation would be appropriate given the student's current performance and target score.
Who it's for
The Diagnostic Review is appropriate for students at any current level of preparation. Some families use it as a one-time consultation to inform their own decisions about next steps. Others use it as a first session before committing to a more substantial Walker Prep engagement. Either use is fully supported, and the session is the same in both cases.
